THE THEATRE
The main theater room has flexible dinner-theatre style seating. A performance stage, with a huge dance floor, and state-of-the-art lighting and sound provide for an entertaining experience like no other.
The maximum occupancy is 192 persons for tabled seats or 300 persons for a mixer. We offer flexible seating configurations to choose for your crowd size.
The theater even changes colors! We can make the curtains red, pink, blue, or purple. Our silver swirled art deco style tables are specially designed to beautifully reflect the light, without the necessity of linens. Tables for serving, bartending, gifts, greeting, or ticketing are provided.
The performance stage is back-dropped with a beautiful twinkling star curtain, and optional crystal empire chandelier. The stage is 42′ wide by 30′ deep with a 24′ proscenium opening perfect for bands and small orchestra. The green room and dressing areas are located in the basement with a stage entrance.
A 30-foot retractable silver screen and side monitors are available for movies, video presentations, television, and sporting events.
Our presentation amenities include up to four channels of handheld and lapel microphones, podium, and connectivity for laptop computers to project on the silver screen and monitors.
Our state-of-the-art concert lighting and sound system is unrivaled by any other private events venue. Our DMX controlled moving light system allows suitable lighting for all types of events. The Cinemagic! Dance Experience is the most exciting DJ service available.
BALCONY BRIDAL SUITE
The Balcony is a glamorous and fun bridal suite overlooking the main theatre. The bridal party can spy through the windows and see all the crew prep and guests arriving below. The room is decorated in Hollywood Regency style, with shimmery silver and mirrored accents, and even your own private movie screen! Bridal parties rave about the extra spacious comfort and convenience, while the chic decor makes for fabulous photo ops.

HOLLYWOOD LOUNGE
Hidden beneath the stage is the green room, one of the theatre’s best kept secrets. The official name is the Hollywood Lounge but it is affectionately known as The Man Cave. If only walls could speak of the performers who have lounged here over the decades. This 1940’s themed room is the dressing area for show performers, and the groom and groomsmen. The Hollywood Lounge is a special amenity only available as part of select event packages.

ICE CREAM PARLOR
Make a sweet escape to the Capitol Theatre Ice Cream Parlor, tucked away next to the historic Capitol Theatre lobby. Revel in the nostalgia of movie memories as you treat your tastebuds to our Hollywood themed dessert menu featuring Ghirardelli chocolate and locally roasted fresh espresso beans. Hit the sweet spot with scrumptious ice cream desserts, creamy malted milkshakes, delectable coffee beverages and more while listening to classic movie soundtracks.
Peruse our menu of fountain favorites, then slide into one of our decked out themed booths: Star Wars, Indiana Jones, or Back to the Future. You’ll be immersed in movie heaven as you explore floor to ceiling iconic movie props and memorabilia.
MARQUEE
Have your name or announcement in lights on our fabulous neon marquee! You can advertise, wish someone happy birthday or congratulations, or even propose! There are three sides available to hang old Hollywood style letters.
Each side rents for $100, and is subject to availability.
The Capitol Theatre marquee has been part of the Maryville streetscape since 1934. Its art deco, streamline style is the inspiration behind the Capitol logo. The original paint color was green, with white trim. Today it is painted black, white, and red. The current version has been completely redesigned with all LED lighting. Clever electrical engineering of relays and timers, and rather traditional mechanical parts allow it to blink and flash. If you stand beneath the marquee and listen carefully, you can hear a relay spinner clicking, which causes the “burst” on the logo to flash in time. The black dimensional letters are individually channel hung with a long pole. This skill takes considerable practice and a few cracked letters from hitting the sidewalk, or your head, to master!
